Picture this: a man walks up to you and says he wants to be your friend, follow you everywhere, read your thoughts, and predict what you'll think before you even think it. Creepy, right? Well, that's exactly what Mark Zuckerberg says he wants his AI to do.

In a candid interview with podcast host and comedian Theo Von, Zuckerberg revealed that his company, Meta, seeks to develop AI technology that, in addition to solving complex problems, could also become a close friend of humans.

Addressing his goal for Meta AI, Zuckerberg began, “We're trying to solve full general intelligence and super intelligence and all that, but I think in order to build a product that people are going to want to use, you're going to want to build something that's fun to use.”

He added, “That means, like, you're not just going to want to like type to it, you want to like have a conversation, right? And it's not just about having it be like only able to answer hard questions, it should like get to know you; and like what you think is funny; and like what you ate, right? So that way you know it can like or you know what your hobbies are, so that way it can kind of relate to you.”

Zuckerberg said he hopes to have AI glasses in “hopefully closer to four [years], or even less,” and that a decade from now, he anticipates people who wear glasses accepting this AI eyewear as completely ordinary, comparing it to the rapidly ubiquitous presence of smartphones. But Zuckerberg also aims to put neural interfaces on wristbands. “The neural interface aspect is almost like mind control,” he claimed, adding: “you basically control the glasses with your mind through signals that you are sending from your brain to your hand.” This raises severe privacy and free speech concerns.

In fact, Zuckerberg seemed to espouse a globalist vision where people’s possessions are not real, but dependent on whoever controls AI, as he smugly said, “I think it’s an interesting thought experiment how many of the things we physically have are going to be there in the future.”

Yet the current version of Meta AI has displayed extreme bias and censorship proclivities. For instance, in May 2024, MRC researchers caught Meta AI bending over backwards to defend arguments in favor of censorship. And in January, on the day of the National March for Life, Meta AI displayed distinctly pro-abortion and anti-life bias, positively recommending abortion giant Planned Parenthood while criticizing pro-life pregnancy centers.
